Strategic use of LinkedIn, how important it is to know.

LinkedIn is one of the top professional social networking sites in the world. LinkedIn is used in more than 200 regions and countries around the world, with 4.60 million users in Bangladesh alone. As of April 2022, 66.8 million professionals worldwide use LinkedIn.

LinkedIn, owned by Microsoft, is a social networking platform for professionals. LinkedIn is a great medium to add new dimension to career. Most people use LinkedIn to maintain a professional online profile.

  • Jobs through LinkedIn: Some caveats to avoid:

Rule number one is: First of all, watch YouTube videos in Bengali to remove confusion regarding LinkedIn's updates, features, usage, techniques, hacks, tips, etc. Don't go see everything at once. Watch as much as you need.

Whether you are a marketing executive in an organization, or a final year student looking for a job, LinkedIn can be useful for everyone. Professionals can easily connect with other professionals on LinkedIn. Also, there are many opportunities for those who have just started their career to build their career here.

LinkedIn can easily be compared with Facebook. A lot of features are added here for professionals, which makes it unique despite being a similar website.

  • Key Features of LinkedIn

Home: The page you will be shown after logging into LinkedIn is the home page. It's very similar to Facebook's newsfeed. Here you'll see posts made by your connections and companies or people you follow.

Profile: Think of your LinkedIn profile as your virtual CV. Here your photos, location, experience - these important information are stored. You can also highlight your educational qualifications, volunteer work on your LinkedIn profile.

My Network: You will find a list of people you are connected to on LinkedIn in My Network. Also, the option to add new connections based on your current connection list will also appear on this page.

Jobs: Job recruiters post a variety of jobs on LinkedIn every day, which are displayed in the Jobs section. LinkedIn will show you job postings based on your profile information. That's why good profile editing plays an important role in finding jobs on LinkedIn.

Interests: In addition to adding someone as a connection, you can follow other professional or company pages on LinkedIn. In that case, followed people and pages will be counted as your interest.

Searchbar: We all know the function of search bar. It is very easy to find a professional, company or job using LinkedIn's search bar. This is a very powerful feature.

Messages: LinkedIn Messages works like ten other platforms' messaging features. Using this feature you can send private messages as well as images, attachments etc. to others.

Notifications: Like other social networks, LinkedIn also has a notification tab. Here various information about your connections, specialized recommendations for you, job news are displayed.

Pending Invitations: When someone else sends you a connection request, it will appear in Pending Invitations.

These were some of the main features of LinkedIn. When you log into LinkedIn as a basic account, you will see these features. Since LinkedIn is a feature-rich platform, you can explore the platform and discover new features.

Knowing the main features of LinkedIn or how it works is not the point. Many people leave their LinkedIn accounts without understanding what to do with them. If you are new to LinkedIn or unsure about using it, the following tips will help you.

Maintain relationships with colleagues: You can add your current and former colleagues, teachers, even classmates as connections on LinkedIn. This way you can easily get involved with their professional life. If you want to make this task easier, you can synchronize your mail contact list to LinkedIn. Also adding your email address increases the chances of others finding you.

Use Profile as Resume: As we mentioned earlier, you can think of LinkedIn profile as your virtual resume. So you can decorate your LinkedIn profile beautifully. You can add your LinkedIn profile link in mail or job cover letter. Even many websites prefer to import LinkedIn profiles and take information from there when recruiting jobs.

Job Search and Job Application: LinkedIn has made job search and job application a lot easier. One of its main features is Jobs, which is used by numerous companies to hire people in their firms. So if you are looking for a job or hoping for a better job, you can start your search from LinkedIn.

Connecting with New Professionals: Connecting with old colleagues or acquaintances on LinkedIn is definitely a great activity. In addition to this, there is an opportunity to learn many new things by adding local and even international professionals as connections on LinkedIn. For both professionals and students, LinkedIn can be very useful for networking or finding job opportunities. Former US President Barack Obama once joked that he would look for a job on LinkedIn at the end of his term.

The bottom line is that whether it's job hunting or networking, LinkedIn can be very useful. There are even freelancing projects available on LinkedIn. Now let's know what to do in getting a job or work on LinkedIn.

In order to get a job or work through LinkedIn, it is very important to follow some things. Let's take a look at some effective tips that will help you get jobs through LinkedIn.

  • Profile must be updated regularly.

I see profiles of many skilled and experienced people, they don't update. If you don't keep your profile updated, you may miss out on opportunities. It is important to let others know about your skills. Whether you are a freelancer or a traditional employee, don't forget to highlight your work experience in your profile. Having a profile picture increases the chances of clicking on the profile. So setting a professional profile photo is very important.

  • How important it is to be strategic about using profile pictures on LinkedIn.

The first thing you see when you log into any social media, LinkedIn, Facebook or Twitter, is the picture of the person who owns that profile. We want to get an idea about the person by looking at the picture. We try to create a basic world with his personality, taste, clothes, surroundings of the picture etc. This may be why it is said that first the philosopher, then the judge - this is an old Bengali proverb. LinkedIn profile picture should not be same as Facebook or other personal social media profile picture. Generally, formal or semi-formal images look good on LinkedIn. So don't give a passport size photo of a lumberjack. Such photographs are taken for serious matters such as passports, immigration and national ID cards.

Use pictures of smiling faces. Alternatively, you can also provide photos that highlight your relaxed work life. In this case, others will also be less hesitant to contact you for professional reasons.

Avoid wearing fashionable hats, sunglasses, very bright colored clothes or strange background images. We all basically learned how to use Facebook first and then came to LinkedIn, so it's only natural that our behavior will have some touch of Facebook. I find that most of my connections' profile pictures represent colorful moments like Facebook photos. But day by day and with increasing experience, images and seriousness become the means of expression.

Another thing I find interesting is that many people use LinkedIn pictures from 8/10 years ago. In reality, when the person is seen in the picture of an event, then no similarity can be found with the picture. I think we should be a little cautious about this. It's not a big crime but it seems kind of funny.

Your back cover photo is also important. This back cover image can be called a signboard of your work, experience or scope of work. So a bright back cover that matches your profile will surely enhance the prestige of your profile.

There are more than 45,000 skills in LinkedIn that can be added to a profile. So it is very important to update profile regularly, add quality profile picture and add proper skills to profile. If you have an idea about how to set up a Facebook profile, then setting up a LinkedIn profile will not be too difficult for you.

  • The most effective means of demonstrating competence and intent.

Don't forget to include your skills and objectives on LinkedIn. Properly matching your skills and objectives plays an important role in landing a job on LinkedIn. Share your main objective (objective) using the headline. Add all your skills to the profile. Any recruiting agency or employer may pre-select you depending on whether your profile is updated or not. And you can be sure that your profile will be seen by anyone in that office before the interview call.

  • Highlight recent experience.

Highlight your recently acquired experience in the profile. If someone checks your profile, it will judge you accordingly for your experience. So if you want to be found by a company or recruiter, add your recent experience to LinkedIn.

  • Update the headline.

When someone searches for talent on LinkedIn, they see the picture, name and headline below the picture. Mention what you do or can and want to do in your headline. Since the headline on your profile is the first thing anyone will notice, use an attention-grabbing headline.

  • The most effective place to make your presence known.

We use LinkedIn to make my presence known. You need to tell others that you are willing to work or get a job. Also, how do employers know this, so you can do this by using your profile headline. For example, if you are a merchandiser, you can write in the headline “Product development merchandiser from XYZ, looking for a better opportunity. Or if you can do good copywriting work then you can write Copywriter, seeking business in need of a friendly writer.” Again suppose you are an electrical engineer, in that case the headline could be, “Electrical engineer with ability to read and interpret electrical drawings.” In general, the more you can express your message, the more opportunities you will have.

  • First create the network.

Build your network on LinkedIn first. It will help in making connections with your acquaintances and other people. You can also connect with people you know on LinkedIn using your contact list, such as mobile number list, email list or Gmail.

  • Follow the companies you love.

Follow and try to learn from companies you are interested in working for or getting updates from. If you haven't already done so, create a list and follow those companies on LinkedIn. In this you can know the latest news of the said companies and you will also know if job opportunities are created.

  • Learn to use Advanced Search.

I think one of the best options on LinkedIn is the advanced search. You must at all costs learn the proper use of this feature. It can be guaranteed that you will benefit from proper use of LinkedIn's search and filtering features. For example, you can easily find out who among your connections is connected with the company of your choice. Then you can collect any information about the companies of your choice from those people. You can also know about the work experience in the said company. You can easily search and apply for job opportunities in your preferred company using advanced search. If it seems more difficult, first of all, watch YouTube videos in Bengali to remove the confusion related to LinkedIn's updates, features, usage, techniques, hacks, tips, etc. Don't go see everything at once. Watch as much as you need.

  • Learn to find college and university alumni.

We spend most of our important time in school, college and university. During this time we form good relations with many people. These relationships can also come in handy for networking on LinkedIn. Connect with acquaintances and share common interests, which can help you land a job later on through LinkedIn. It is easier to build rapport with acquaintances than by asking for help from strangers.

If you can find native siblings of the area, there is nowhere else. In this case too it is very important to practice the advanced search option. University senior then home again in the same area and then who gets you!

  • Share your work regularly.

Unashamedly showcasing 100% of your skills on LinkedIn is essential. Whether you make a video or write a blog post, post it on LinkedIn. Interact and build relationships with different people and groups. The more professional you can post, the more others will notice you and the more exposure you will gain. Keep your profile known in front of everyone by sharing your small realizations in one line and if necessary. Many can encourage, many can forbid. Don't stop. If you think this is cool then you can share it.

  • Research the employees of the company of choice.

You can research the bosses and executive teams of the companies you want to work for in advance. This will give you a clear idea about the company before applying for any job in that company. Especially in the interview, you can show your desire to work in the company well if you know about the company in advance.

  • Network outside of business hours.

Most LinkedIn users only use the platform after their business hours. So it may be a good idea to contact someone after business hours of that person's company to establish a relationship. Like all other social media, engagement on LinkedIn depends on these factors.

Nowadays everyone needs to have a LinkedIn account. LinkedIn is often called the Facebook of professionals. Proper use of LinkedIn can pave the way to your next job or job. So don't forget to use LinkedIn properly.

Here are some of the best benefits of using LinkedIn that you need to know.

  • Online huge bazaar of job news.

We are new and old professionals but always looking for jobs. Even if I don't want to change jobs, I still want to keep myself updated. All professionals are on LinkedIn and everyone is constantly working on their company profile, tagging, updates. Whenever there is a need for a job circular, companies and professionals rush to find good people. Remember that LinkedIn's huge online marketplace is at the forefront of this. But there is a shortage of good people in the market. Companies can't find good people. On the other hand, good people do not find good work environment. LinkedIn's ability to facilitate this engagement is well-received around the world. It has been possible for two long decades that LinkedIn has transformed their site into a giant job board by focusing on just this one thing. No job website may have as many relevant job listings as job news from LinkedIn job boards.

Jobs can be searched on LinkedIn job boards using keywords and locations. If you want, you can also set alerts for your favorite tasks. You can also tag #OpenToWork on your profile to let recruiters know that you are open to work.

More information is available using LinkedIn's premium account. LinkedIn Premium includes features such as messaging a recruiter or hiring manager directly, seeing how well your application compares to others, and even getting instant salary updates. All in all, LinkedIn can be your next job finder if you know how to use it right.

  • Create your own brand

Just as companies build their brand, building your professional brand online is essential. How are you different than others? Why should you be hired over other job seekers? Why would anyone put you in a job that pays so much? Your LinkedIn profile can answer all these questions.

Own website can work great, but it requires extra cost and effort. Moreover, others have to be encouraged to visit this website again. LinkedIn, on the other hand, is all about including yourself in a professional channel. You can highlight your skills and personality by connecting your professional profile to the LinkedIn network. When recruiters or employers see your profile, they will easily get an idea of who you are and what you do.

  • Does the Google ranking factor affect LinkedIn?

There are many other such search engines like Google in the online world. But Google has reached such a state, as a result of which we mean Google as a search engine. If we define the Google ranking factor in simple terms, it means that if we need something, when we search on Google, we see many results of that useful thing. Some appear on the first page and some ten pages later.

Do you know why it shows up? Because something works behind this show. These are the ranking factors. It is like one student being the first in the class and another being the last. Whoever comes first gets good marks in every subject. He who is last is bad at everything. Maybe fail in a couple of things.

So for those things that show one website first in Google search results and the other much later; We will call those factors as ranking factors.

'LinkedIn Services' - Freelancer's New Marketplace:

Due to the global situation, the demand for online income platforms and freelance jobs has increased. Many people are working on marketplaces such as Upwork and Fiver to earn online. LinkedIn brings good news for those who want to work online. LinkedIn has launched a freelancing service marketplace on its platform for freelancers.

LinkedIn Services Marketplace will now compete with top freelancing platforms like Fiver and Upwork. The LinkedIn team is working to bring all the features that a modern freelance marketplace should have to this new marketplace.

Several new features have already been added to the LinkedIn service market which are not available in Upwork or Fiver. Those features are:

New search filters to find remote, hybrid or on-site jobs.

You can indicate the type of job you are interested in (remote, hybrid or on-site) in your “Open To Work” indicator.

You can see if a company requires a coronavirus vaccine to work (if the employer provides that information).

After the experimental launch of LinkedIn's service marketplace, they also ran a long-term test in the US, with 20 million users participating.

You can read more from here:---

Linkedin freelance marketplace is open to everyone worldwide. Follow the steps below to setup a freelancer profile on the platform:

  • Go to your own LinkedIn profile page
  • Click the Work button above
  • Click on Services Marketplace
  • Then flag what you're interested in working on

Or directly visit Take your project from to-do to done | Discover Trusted Providers on LinkedIn link and from there “Are you a provider?” Click the “Get Started” button below the section. From the menu that appears, you can setup a service profile as a freelancer.

This is how freelancers add their services to LinkedIn. It's like a fiver gig. Just as freelancers list their own gigs on Fiver, users will showcase their skills and services on LinkedIn.

Clients can search for freelancers through LinkedIn's drop-down search. For example, suppose you are looking for a brand marketer expert. When you start typing that phrase into the LinkedIn search window, LinkedIn will make an autocompleted suggestion, “In service marketplace”, which will take you to a list of candidates in that category.

Then the client can see the details of various freelancers and their services and contact the freelancers. And then they will decide payment and other matters through negotiation.

Also, a client can post a freelance job from the “Get proposals from trusted providers” section by visiting the Take your project from to-do to done | Discover Trusted Providers on LinkedIn link. These are known as projects. LinkedIn itself will show various freelancer suggestions when a client's project is posted.

However, the LinkedIn service platform does not currently have a public job post feature like Upwork or other freelance markets. Additionally, LinkedIn's service marketplace currently does not charge any fees.

LinkedIn sells premium subscriptions to recruiters to gather more information about potential job candidates, advertise jobs, and help job seekers find jobs. The popularity of this service of LinkedIn is increasing day by day. According to a LinkedIn report, the rate of confirmed hires through LinkedIn has increased by 160% over the last year. Ad revenue grew 61% overall during the same period.

But in doing so, LinkedIn has changed a large part of the job market. The past decade has seen many prefer short-term freelance to full-time and long-term employment. LinkedIn's service marketplace currently offers over 250 categories of services. They have plans to take it to 500 in the future.

Cybercriminals are also taking advantage of the popularity of the professional networking platform LinkedIn. Cybercriminals try to target people in various ways to steal users' personal information. Because of this, it is the top brand for hackers to steal people's personal details through phishing attacks.

This claim has been made in a report by Check Point Research. The report states that LinkedIn ranks first in phishing attacks with 45% of attempts in the second quarter of this year. According to Check Point Research, its parent company Microsoft was second in this regard. 13 percent of phishing attacks were attempted on it. Next, DHL was number three with 12 percent of phishing attack attempts. Popular brands like Adidas, Adobe and HSBC also feature in the top 10.

Omer Dembinski, data research group manager at Check Point Software, said phishing emails are becoming an essential tool for hackers. Hackers can target millions of users at low cost. Cybercriminals take advantage of brand trust to misinform users about security. Then they try to steal users' personal information.

According to the researcher, Microsoft related schemes are growing rapidly which are much more dangerous. It is also dangerous for organizations along with users. With access to account login details, they get access to all applications like Teams and SharePoint. In this scam, users are first sent malicious emails in LinkedIn communication style. These emails come from many company addresses. But, users share their personal details by clicking on such links. It is advised to be cautious of such emails.

  • Account Hijacking Shortened 'LinkedIn' URL.

Cybercriminals are using shortened URLs on LinkedIn to fool email apps and victims. Cybersecurity researchers have discovered a novel way to use LinkedIn's legitimate and reliable URL shortening service for cybercrime.

Cyber security researchers say that cybercriminals are using LinkedIn's own URL shortening service to steal users' login information (ID and password) and other personal information with fake links.

Researchers at Avanan, a cloud-based email security firm, have confirmed that URL shortening services are being used by cybercriminals for phishing.

In a blog post, the researchers of the institute gave details about the matter. Cybercriminals send shortened URLs using LinkedIn's services to victims via email. By using LinkedIn's services, shortened URLs appear reliable to users. And in that email, users are asked to go to that link and fill in the incomplete information fields.

"Those URLs (shortened to LinkedIn: Log In or Sign Up) are modified from LinkedIn's URL shortening service, then redirect a few pages to a phishing page," the researchers say.

Based on the information obtained from a recent study by the research institute Checkpoint Research, Avanan researchers say that any employee of any organization can admit to fraud in this way. According to Checkpoint Research, LinkedIn is the sixth most used company name by cybercriminals in the second quarter of 2021.

On the other hand, the use of URL shortening services in cyber fraud is not something new, TechRadar commented.

Earlier this year, Cybernews researchers discovered a scam using shortened URLs. Criminals spread shortened phishing URLs through Facebook Messenger.

500,000 Facebook users were affected.

Cybersecurity researchers' warnings about the use of shortened URLs are nothing new. Experts have long advised against clicking on shortened URLs found in emails, messages or other online communication platforms from unknown sources.

  • New Tricks to Scam LinkedIn Job Ads

Fake job advertisements are being posted on LinkedIn accounts of various well-known and trusted organizations. Cyber security researchers have identified a new technique for cheating job advertisements.

Security firm Cypher's expert Harman Singh told tech site BleepingComputer about the new fraud technique. "Anyone can post a job under an organization's LinkedIn account and make it look like one of the organization's other job ads."

Scams with fake job postings on LinkedIn are not new. Fake accounts are commonly used to advertise fake jobs. However, the technique Singh identified for misusing the accounts of trusted organizations gives fraudulent job ads credibility, according to TechRadar.

Bleeping computer verifies the truth of Harman Singh's exposed technique. The site said that apart from job seekers, various organizations are also suffering due to this novel cheating technique.

First, BleepingComputer advertises jobs on its own site account using an account that is not affiliated in any way with its organization. The fake post appeared to be from BleepingComputer as it was not possible to identify the name or identity of the advertiser from the list of ads. And the application sent by those interested in seeing the fake post also reaches the site's own email address.

However, the biggest complication in this case is LinkedIn's own operating system. LinkedIn does not allow 'admin control' over content. As a result, BleepingComputer failed to delete the fake post from its own account.

In this case, there is no other option but to directly seek the intervention of the LinkedIn authorities on behalf of the organizations, according to the technical site Techreader.

In this context, Singh said, "If you want, you can directly mail LinkedIn's Trust and Safety team and enable those options to block unauthorized posts so that only approved members can post job ads." LinkedIn did not immediately comment on Singh's discovery of a new cheating technique.

However, regarding its own procedures and policies, a spokesperson of the organization said, “Posting fake jobs is a clear violation of our policies. We identify and remove fake job postings using automated and manual defenses. We are constantly investing in new ways to improve identification systems. Including institutional email verification tools for various organizations before posting on LinkedIn.”

  • LinkedIn sued for secretly 'reading' iPhone data.

In 2020, an iPhone user in New York sued Microsoft-owned LinkedIn for secretly reading content on iPhone users' clipboards.

In that lawsuit, filed in San Francisco, plaintiff Adam Boyer alleges that LinkedIn read and diverted sensitive content from Apple's universal clipboard application without informing the user. - News from Reuters.

According to Apple's website, Universal Clipboard allows users to copy text, images, photos and videos from an Apple device and then paste them to another Apple device. LinkedIn has not commented on the matter.

According to multiple media reports, a total of 53 apps, including TikTok and LinkedIn, read Apple users' universal clipboard content. Apple has recently introduced a new privacy feature for iPhone users. Apple users can find out through that feature if the clipboard content is read without informing the user of any app.

"These 'reads' refer to Apple's universal clipboard 'paste' command." – Allegedly in the case of Adam Boyer. However, a LinkedIn executive said on Twitter that the company has released a new version of its app to stop such practices. Still, the allegations emerged, developers and testers of Apple's operating system iOS 14 saw the LinkedIn app on iPhone and iPad "secretly" read the user's clipboard "a lot more."

The lawsuit further alleges that LinkedIn monitors data not only on its users, but also on nearby computers and other devices, and that it circumvents Apple's universal clipboard break.

According to the Reuters report, the plaintiff wants to make the case a "class action" case in accordance with the new law of California due to violation of legal and social normality.

  • LinkedIn bug was leaking customer data.

Two or three years ago, LinkedIn's autofills plugin was quietly allowing customers to steal personal information.

This autofills plugin is widely used. Through this, basic information such as name, email address, location and workplace of LinkedIn member's profile would be automatically filled in on an approved website.

This plugin is very popular for quick login to enter site or subscribe to email newsletter. Only whitelisted domains are given this benefit. And LinkedIn approves new domains.

LinkedIn has whitelisted dozens of sites from the top 10,000 websites in the Alexa ranking. These include Twitter, Microsoft, LinkedIn and many other sites. A report by tech site ZDnet raised suspicions that any of the websites on the list could view personal data of customers without permission. If any of the sites on the list have cross-site-scripting (XSS) exploits, hackers or attackers can run malicious code.

Not only that, attackers can piggy-back on LinkedIn's customer information using the whitelist. Someone on the list allegedly committed the theft, the report said.

In a statement Thursday about the autofill bug, Jack Cable said, "Clicking anywhere on a website page can expose customer information unintentionally." Jack was the first to find this bug.

He contacted ZDNet after LinkedIn did not take steps to fix the bug and did not respond to Jack Cable's email about the risk of sites being whitelisted because of the bug. He also created a proof-of-concept code to demonstrate the error. Meanwhile, LinkedIn announced that the bug had been fixed after Jack only disclosed the flaw.

An XSS flaw on one site allowed him to silently run proof-of-concept code, he said, withholding the name of the site. He can run the code from his own server.

Then a page appeared that read: “Click anywhere on this page.” Such messages are given only when user information is taken. This XSS flaw can cause data to go to a malicious person's server. Expressing apprehension, he simply said, "This is how customer information is being exposed without any privacy."

“Let's say I turn off my last name or email address in the privacy settings and give a place name. My full name, email address and zip code will still be visible.” "We stop unauthorized use of this feature as soon as we become aware of it," said a LinkedIn spokesperson. We are always working to ensure the security of users' information. We appreciate his (Jack Cable's) sense of responsibility. Our security team will maintain contact with him.

  • Chinese 'LinkedIn spying'!

Germany's intelligence agency BFV has alleged that China is using fake LinkedIn profiles to collect information on German government officials and politicians.

Intelligence agencies allege that Chinese intelligence has targeted at least 10,000 Germans using the business-oriented social media. In this case, China's intention may be to employ them as correspondents, the complaining organization said.

BFV also revealed a number of fake profiles used for this purpose. Hans-Georgmassen, head of the agency, said, "This is a comprehensive effort to get information, especially from parliaments, ministries and government agencies." China has always denied allegations of such cyber espionage. According to the Reuters report, the country has not yet responded to Germany's new accusation.

The BFV has named the eight most 'active' profiles used in communication with German LinkedIn profiles. These profiles are designed to lure other users and promote young Chinese professionals who are allegedly non-existent.

One of the profiles published is named 'Allen Liu', who is said to be a human resources manager at an economics consultancy. Another profile named 'Lily Wu' says she often works as a member of a consulting expert group in eastern China. BFV claims that both these accounts are fake.

The German agency has expressed concern that Chinese intelligence agencies are trying to recruit high-ranking politicians as informants in this way. Users who believe they may have been targeted by such suspicious accounts are urged to contact the company.

The June 2021 raid was posted on June 22, 2021 by someone named Tom-Liner for sale on a website called Raid Forums.

Hackers are trying to sell the information of about 700 million LinkedIn users. This information included the user's full name, e-mail, birthday, work address, phone number, Facebook and Twitter ID, employment information and, in some cases, specific location.

The total number of users of LinkedIn is about 756 million. As such, about 93 percent of user information is there. So if the hacker's claim is true and you're a LinkedIn user, you can assume your information is there as well.

LinkedIn claims that the information was not collected by hacking the company's database. Rather, the hackers collected the users' public profiles and other sources.

Linkedin's website states, 'Some of the information put up for sale has been checked by our staff. We want to make it clear that this is not a data leak and no confidential information of LinkedIn users has been exposed.

LinkedIn's claims may be technically true. By hacking, the hacker did not gain access to the database by breaking the security layer. And the company owned by Microsoft is trying to avoid responsibility by mentioning that word. But either way, the victim of harassment is the user.

This happened twice in one year. Last April, hackers posted a set of data on 500 million users. It is not clear whether the new set of data is an extension of the previous one or not.

Someone named Tom-Liner posted the information for sale on a website called Raid Forums on June 22. He provided a small sample set of data to show that he was not making false claims.

  • What is the solution?

It can be said that there is almost no opportunity to take back the information that has been leaked. You can be careful not to have your information in case of any information leakage later. The first thing to do is, the less information you can put on your LinkedIn or any social media profile, the better from a security perspective. And you can change the settings so that social media services apps do not get your location information.

To do this, on Android go to Settings to Apps & Notifications, then App Permissions to Locations. Now decide which apps will always, some apps sometimes and which apps will never detect your location via GPS. To do the same on iPhone, go to Settings, Privacy, and then Location Services.

  • Note:—-

I see profiles of many skilled and experienced people, they don't update. If you don't keep your profile updated, you may miss out on opportunities. It is important to let others know about your skills. Whether you are a freelancer or a traditional employee, don't forget to highlight your work experience in your profile. Having a profile picture increases the chances of clicking on the profile. So setting a professional profile photo is very important. How important it is to be strategic about using profile pictures on LinkedIn.

The most effective means of demonstrating competence and intent. Don't forget to include your skills and objectives on LinkedIn. You can be sure that your profile will be seen by anyone in that office before the interview call.
